I fell in love…in the jungle.
I fell in love with myself. I fell in love with life. I felt at ease, even though there were many moments of coming face to face with reality and the fact that there is so much that I take for granted. Things like transportation, hot water, and electricity all come to mind.
It didn’t matter, because life is simple and beautiful.
Every time I take a journey like this, I recognize that life in the US may be hazardous to my health. The rushing from place to place, or in the modern word, from zoom meeting to zoom meeting is not what we are meant to do. The excessive consumption of shit we don’t need in the name of capitalism is so not needed, yet we’ve been convinced it is. Living in houses that are way bigger than what is necessary and our isolation from each other as a community is slowly killing us.
But most of us don’t see it…
We are too busy checking the balance of our bank accounts.
We are too busy online shopping.
We are too busy trying to get to places or log in on time.
We are too busy to see it.
And we are not seeing what we should be seeing. The world could actually be ending in the near future. World War III has begun and it is entirely possible that we won’t live to see a World War IV. Weaponry is too sophisticated now and it goes far beyond explosions. This war will be fought in the economy and via the internet. We no longer have the knowledge and skills to survive without money and without the ability to click buttons.
We must learn from those who have disconnected and rebelled against it all. The people are out there, but we must find them. We must trust them. We must let go of the bullshit capitalistic lives that we’ve built, before it’s too late…
