053 – The failure of traditional medicine

the many dimensions of things within our control…

It would be easy to say that traditional medicine is complete bullshit. But that is not actually true. There are many caring, well-meaning healthcare providers out that that want to do good. But they are bound to the chains of the American healthcare system and the nonsense projected by insurance companies. It’s a systemic failure – the insurance companies are operating like businesses and businesses exist to make a profit for their shareholders (except for B corporations.). If you know anything about B-corps, you would agree that it is astonishing that health insurance companies don’t pursue this designation. Because of this, “we the people” are the ones who suffer.

But is there a bigger issue at play here? We’ve become a society that expects on-demand solutions and quick fixes. Rather than fixing issues through nutritional supplements or addressing the root causes of issues, we want to take a pill or go through surgery. There are approaches that are so much better, but do we as a society have the patience for them? This seems to be true through human and veterinary medicine.

What if we could rethink things? What would be possible if we weren’t bound to the rules of insurance companies that exist simply to make a profit for their shareholders? What if we could be more patient and be conditioned to have the ability to look at improvements made over the course of time? What if we could understand that food and herbs could do wonders to compliment the ‘traditional’ medicinal remedies that many of us do need?

I’ve seen what is possible for myself, for my pup, and hopefully soon for my other half. And I want others to see it as well.
